Counterstrike game information..

Counterstrike is a modification (MOD) for the award winning game Half Life. It features a team oriented type gameplay that brings the gamer a realistic experience of Counter Terrorist or Terrorist action. In the game, you play as either a Terrorist (T) or a Counter Terrorist (CT). Each side has different objectives in many different types of maps.

In hostage rescue maps (cs_) the CT's goal is to bring the hostages back to their base safely, and the T's goal is to either eliminate the CT's force or keep them from rescuing the hostages. When you play a bomb defusion map (de_) the CT's goal is to stop the T's from bombing two key targets. The assassination type play (as_) makes the T's assassinate the V.I.P. before he/she reaches an escape point or eliminate all CT's. Although Terrorist escape is rarely played it is also another fun form of CS. Other forms of maps include the extremely popular awp (awp_) and iceworld (fy_) maps. Awp maps are good practice for snipers and the objective to these levels is to simply stay alive. Iceworld rounds are usually very short and full of action. Maps like fy_iceworld are small and simple, rush! spray! and kill!!

Counterstrike also includes a variety of guns and items to use during the battle. The standard guns include an AK47, Sig Commando Rifle, MP5 Navy, Desert Eagle, Arctic Warfare Magnum, Colt M4A1, Stery Machine Pistol, and many others. Depending on your team you will have access to different weapons. The items include upper body and full body armor, night vision goggles, HE grenades, flash bangs, smoke bombs, and much more. With the new addition of version 1.6 players can now buy Riot shields (CT's only), FAMAS machine guns, and Galil rifles. Each team has strengths and weakneses as far as the gear they equip.

With Counterstrike more than 4 years old it is continuing to grow larger and larger everyday. The game is updated with new items and features often to keep it fresh and intresting. On top of fresh updates the Counterstrike community has become so envloved with the game that there are thousands of sprites, weapon skins, and computer enhancements available for download all over the internet. There are now over 12,000 servers and a growing number of players to play with. It is a fun and addicting game that many people enjoy.
